On Friday October 29th, we celebrated the kickoff of the redevelopment of the former Hudson’s Bay in the heart of Rotterdam. AIR will be a sustainable, healthy and multifunctional building in a unique location, developed by Angelo Gordon, Schroders Capital Netherlands (formerly Cairn Real Estate) and NEOO.

Council alderman Roos Vermeij (Economy & Neighborhoods) officially kicked off the build by expertly drilling away a piece of cement from the old floor. From a vacant, closed-off warehouse, AIR will become an outward-facing, future-proof building with a mix of functions. In the basement a large bike shed, two floors of retail and hospitality, including C&A’s new flagship store and a large Jumbo supermarket.

Above 5 floors of premium office space under the flag of AIR Offices, existing of 25.000 m2 premium office space for the future of work. On the top floor a Sky Bar with impressive views across the Rotterdam inner city skyline.

The construction of AIR is underway and the opening of the offices is planned for 2023.
